Hey there.The name's Wesley Faber, and I’m a digital designer. Freshly graduated from the IIE’s Vega Durban campus, and plan on achieving my honours in Design leadership.

I’m determined to learn and adapt to any working environment and am quite keen to begin my career in the design industry.

I’m experienced in After effects, photoshop animating, Blender, and can even make animations for you on css. I’m always ready to expand my plethora of platforms, and will adapt to other platforms if needed.

If you know me, you’d know I’m constantly drawing. I can visualise anything from display ideas, characters, and even environments (from urban to rural) .

I am quite adaptable when it comes to tech, I have a foundation of web design knowledge, which includes HTML and CSS, and I plan on extending it with Javascript. That being said I am also experienced in UX design.

As a student with distinctions in this module, I am quite familiar with the concept of branding and marketing . This also includes the strategies used to break through into new markets and positioning for better brand perception. I believe that branding is more important than ever in today's corporate environment, as people are quite resilient to traditional marketing and need new experimental forms of engagement across platforms.

FEATURED VEGA PROJECTS

Just a few of the promising outputs rendered from my Vega career.

  • A point of purchase proposal for an emerging brand in the South African market. I was in charge of 3D modeling, while my other associates, Bianca du Piesanie and Yandisa Lata, assisted in designing the characters and other designs on the display. The Omello team consisted of 8 people, those being Ethan Breen, Thamsanqa Chingombe, Tahlia Cronjé, Aaliya Gani, Yandisa Lata, Nosisa Maseko, Bianca du Piesanie, and myself. The team assisted in ideating, and I was tasked with creating the mockup.

  • A corporate style animation walk cycle developed for a small advert that was deisnged along side my Omello team.That team consisted of the following people, those being Ethan Breen, Thamsanqa Chingombe, Tahlia Cronjé, Aaliya Gani, Yandisa Lata, Nosisa Maseko, Bianca du Piesanie, and myself.

  • This was a small project revamped into an industry-standard advert, in which the idea was to humorously reference the COVID pandemic. At the same time, however, the idea was to promote Corona ( the drink) as the perfect beverage for evening celebrations, such as New Year's Eve. Which is not often attempted by the brand.
